T3610 packs ultrahigh-speed frame rates and performance into a compact platform, 50% lighter than the closest equivalents. Back side illuminated (BSI) sensor technology maximizes sensitivity for sub-microsecond exposure times as often required in high-velocity testing.

At its full 1 Mpx resolution of 1280 x 800 the Phantom T3610 captures over 38,000 fps. This 38 Gpx/second throughput is maintained through its full range for a top frame rate of 875,000 fps at both 1280 x 32 (standard mode) and 640 x 64 (binned mode). Binned mode increases the vertical resolution of the camera's top frame rates by combining the sensor pixels 2x2. Binned mode is included on both mono and color T3610 cameras, however the output will switch to mono when used on a color camera.
The frame rates provided by the T3610 are sought after for combustion, impact testing, spray dynamics, shock wave analysis and other applications that benefit from sub-microsecond exposure times. The T3610 custom BSI sensor delivers on all fronts, including the ability to shoot in environments with limited supplemental light.
The T3610 includes premium features to enable a variety of applications including:
- EDR (Extreme Dynamic Range) provides flash mitigation for ballistic studies by dynamically adjusting exposure in saturated areas of the image.
- Programmable I/O to interface with DAQ systems and a variety of measurement sensors, which can be recorded and viewed as metadata in Cine files.
- Remote, standalone operation is achieved by using the on-camera controls, video monitor and CineMag.

Phantom CineMag is a high-speed solid-state storage module and differs significantly from a traditional hard drive or solid-state disk in that there is no file system. PCC software is required to download Cine Raw files, which can be controlled through an Ethernet connection with the camera body or by using a dedicated CineStation IV.
For high-speed recording, you must record to the camera’s RAM buffer first, review, and then transfer to the CineMag—this is known as ‘Loop’ mode. For lower speed recording, the camera can run in ‘Run/Stop’ mode, writing direct to the CineMag and allowing several minutes of recording. Once the file is recorded to the CineMag, the images are secure and can be deleted out of RAM to start another capture.
The recordings are best reviewed using video playback on the camera body. It is not possible to delete individual clips from a CineMag. Once the CineMag is full, you can only re-record on it by deleting its entire contents. For this reason, it is recommended that RAM Cines are reviewed and trimmed by setting in and out points prior to transfer from the RAM buffer to the CineMag.

Most Phantom cameras come with a fixed amount of high-speed dynamic RAM. When the camera is in the pre-trigger mode (you've pressed "Capture" in the user interface), the camera is continuously recording images into that memory. When it gets to the end of memory, it cycles back to the beginning and continues recording, constantly overwriting itself – until the camera is triggered. This behavior is called "circular buffer recording".
What you end up actually saving in memory is a function of how you've set up your trigger. It can be set so that only frames that occur after the trigger are saved (100% post trigger). In this mode, once the trigger is pressed any images already in memory are overwritten and you record until memory is full, then it stops. If you set the trigger to stop the recording (0% post trigger) and save all frames up to the time of the trigger, the camera will simply stop recording upon the trigger and all the frames in memory before the trigger will be saved. Finally, you can set the trigger anywhere in the middle, for example having 90% of the recorded movie be what happens prior to the trigger and 10% after the trigger.
